My job often requires me to edit raw footages from other shooters, in this case someone’s YouTube footage, and find a story and make it look nice.
This video request came to me fairly late in the day and had to go on the website as soon as we could. I edited the piece fairly quickly with footages from YouTube and while trying to contact the owner for permission to use the footage. The shooter was affected by the tornado and we were unable to reach him. We thought of giving up and use other footages despite all the hard work and time put into this. Just when we were going to do another complete different video on the tornado story, the shooter called.
